The Baltimore Area Alliance
, commonly abbreviated as BAA, is a strategic alliance of FRC teams in Maryland's Greater Baltimore locale. The alliance provides its members support in fundraising and community outreach events, as well as providing a robotics 'think tank' for design concepts. The alliance also hosts the Battle O' Baltimore, one of the largest off-season FRC events on the east coast.
Every year, Capitol College in Laurel, MD, has hosted the state's official FRC Kickoff, at which teams can view a video feed of the year's game and receive their kit of parts. Maryland also hosts the Chesapeake Regional
, which will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center from March 11-13.
Aside from the Chesapeake Regional, Maryland is also home to the Battle O' Baltimore
, and unofficial, off-season competition hosted by the Baltimore Area Alliance. Created in 2007, the Battle O' Baltimore has grown into one of the premier off-season events on the east coast, with teams as far away as New York attending. The Robo-Lions have attended the Battle O' Baltimore every year since its creation in 2007.

Maryland hosts an FTC Championship Tournament, which was held at the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD, in December 2009.

Maryland has a total of 140 FLL teams, and that number increases dramatically every year. 3 of these teams are located at Oklahoma Road Middle School and are mentored by the Robo-Lions. A map of all Maryland FLL can be found here

Maryland's annual FLL State Tournament is held at UMBC (the University of Maryland, Baltimore County); this year's state tournament was held on January 30th. Nine local qualifier events are also held throughout the state. The Robo-Lions hosted a qualifier, the Roar of the Robots, on January th at Liberty High School.

There are no JFLL teams in Carroll County, but 45 JFLL teams are scattered throughout Maryland.
Maryland holds a JFLL State Expo at the same time and place as the FLL State Tournament, which was held on January 30th at UMBC.
